Herbs For Sale
We are expanding our herb gardens this spring. Our first tea is now available!
Silly Grin Tea is part medicinal, part lovely!
Silly Grin Tea uses the best ingredients we can get, mostly certified organic or from our "certified naturally grown" gardens. We use all-natural leaves, berries, roots, bark or peel, NO added flavorings. Naturally caffeine free and gluten free.
The tea comes in a resealable glass jar. The loveliness of the tea can be enjoyed either hot or cold.
Two oz of loose tea mix makes at least 24 cups of tea, 4 oz makes at least 48 cups.
Buy 2 oz for the low price of $10.00 plus shipping.
Or better yet, get twice the tea, 4 oz, for the extra savings of $16.00 plus shipping.
INGREDIENTS:
Rooibos*, Roses*, Jiao Gu Lan*, Lemon Grass*, Chamomile*, Peppermint*, Mimosa#, Eleuthero*, Sarsaparilla#, Hawthorne*, Scullcap*, Passionflower*, Achyranthes, Orange Peel*, Lemon Peel*.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Making this wonderful tea takes a little time, but well worth it.
Follow the instructions carefully for best results.
* Bring 2 cups of water to a boil. Use a glass or ceramic or stainless steel pot. Remove from heat.
* Add in 1 tablespoon tea mix. Cover and let steep for 45 minutes. USE A TIMER!
The tea is fine to drink right away but the full medicinal properties take the time. Strain liquid.
* Add 1 tablespoon of honey or natural fruit preserves for sweetness, if desired.
* Refrigerate in a glass or ceramic container (preferably not plastic and definitely not aluminum).
It will keep in the refrigerator for no more than three days.
The tea can be frozen in cubes for easy later use.
The tea can stay at room temperature for several weeks, but for longer storage and better medicinal freshness, store it in the freezer.
My favorite way to make Silly Grin Tea:
Boil up some filtered water in the morning.
Put the tea and honey and maybe some sliced strawberries in a quart glass canning jar.
Pour in the boiling water, close the jar and wrap it in a towel. By the time you get to work, the tea has steeped adequately.
A warm cup for the morning, and then a cool cup in the afternoon. Very nice!
